Valerie was born and raised in the Willamette Valley region of Oregon, where three of her four children still live. Her forth and youngest child is in the Air Force and is currently stationed in California. Valerie moved to Fairbanks in 2006 after her husband fell in love with Alaska during a moose hunting trip. Valerie has worked for the last 20 years in the excavation, freight, and auto industries, and thought insurance was a logical next step. In her free time, she enjoys photography, hiking, camping, and exploring the state of Alaska.
